Gary Friedman Books On Sony/Minolta and Techniques
- Best Out There-

If there is anything that is required to take great pictures with your DSLR it
is a complete understanding of the camera and its controls. This is especially
true of situation where the lighting is less than perfect!
As a Sony/Minolta/Photography geek, I tend to read every
manual and article I can covering the cameras that I use and the techniques that
I want to master. Usually the manuals and articles that I have read are just
amplified reprints of the dreaded Sony user guides that come with the camera.
They usually read like a phonebook!
I was really delighted to find that when I purchased his
manual on the A850 how really good the content was! It covers everything that
the 'Field Guides' do but not only covers all of the settings in a step by step
methodology but actually what the setting do 'under the hood'. In the
back of the manuals you find cookbooks for photographing fireworks, time
exposures, and so on.
Gary's style has a little humor to make the reading easy
and a lot of great examples. The books are downloadable as Ebooks so you get a
lot of information for a very little money. These manuals get my highest
recommendation!
If you are going to spend the kind of money it takes to buy a DSLR then spending
a very few more dollars to learn how to use it might be a good idea! I didn't get
paid for this! I just get 'pumped up' when I find a great product!
